Obituary of Wilfred Countryman

Peacefully surrounded by his loving family at home on Monday March 10, 2014, Wilfred “Francis” Countryman, age 78, of Chatham, beloved husband of Eileen (McDonnell) Countryman. Born in Chatham Township in 1935, son of the late Lola Gillet and Wilfred Countryman.

 

Francis was a Truck Driver by trade, was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church and the Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree.

 

Loving father of Maureen Countryman, Lynn (Ed) Jacobs and Dan Countryman (special friend Chantal Dubois) all of Chatham. Cherished grandfather of Riley Countryman and step grandfather of Cedric Dubois-Neron and Will Oliphant. Dear brother of Eileen Myers of Chatham, Joan Charron of Toronto, Bonita Brown of Toronto and Linda Reaume of Georgetown. Also sadly missed by a special niece and nephew Kristy and Ryan Scaman and by many other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a sister Margaret Laprise and Gary Countryman.

 

Friends and relatives may visit at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on March 13, 2014 from 2 – 4 and 7-9 pm on Thursday March 13, 2014, where Vigil Prayers will be offered at 3 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday March 14, 2014 at 11:00 AM in Blessed Sacrament Church. Cremation will follow with burial of ashes at a later date in Thamesville. In lieu of flowers donations to the Blessed Sacrament Church Restoration Fund or Outreach for Hunger would be appreciated.
