Passed away peacefully with his family at his side at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on Monday January 8, 2018.

Saverio Francis Xuereb, born in Malta in 1926, of Chatham, beloved husband of 65 years to Mary (Formosa) Xuereb.

Loving father of Marcella (George) Shapardanis, Anna Soudant (late Leo Soudant) and her friend Raymond Martin. Cherished grandfather of Shawn and Bonnie Shapardanis, Jason and Dawn Shapardanis, Danielle (Shapardanis) and Paul Avila, Tanya Soudant and by 6 great grandchildren, Zachary and Cassidy Shapardanis, Ashlyn and Kayla Shapardanis, Maranda and Mateo Avila. 

Friends will remember Saverio from his days working at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was also a veteran of WWII on the Island of Malta. 

Friends and relatives may visit at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Wednesday January 10, 2018 from 5 - 8 pm, where Vigil Prayers will be offered at 7 pm.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday January 11, 2018 at 1:30 pm in St. Ursula’s Church.

Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.  

Donations to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation would be appreciated.
