It was an early Spring storm, if remembering correctly, around 1963, maybe April. Memory is not always exact. The hydro went out at 42 Coverdale Street, as a classic Southern Ontario storm swept through. Dark, damp, cold, and wind howling, as thunder clasped, and lightning flashed. You took Tad and me to the basement with lit candles, and we recited our Polish Roman Catholic prayers. The glow of the candles set our hope and faith on fire- we were protected. Etched in our memories forever, a simple act of love, eternally grateful.- Walter
