Dear aunt May! She was always my favourite aunt. When I was a kid, we went down to visit for a couple of weeks every summer. I remember the little house in Erieau which was right across from the beach. We loved to swim in the surf, then back to the house for a sumptuous supper. She was a great cook! Then May, Rudy and Connie moved to the lovely house on Chestnut. Over the years as we grew older, we didn’t get to visit as often. I remember her as a very outspoken lady, but always kind and generous. I still have some of the gifts she gave me…a silver temple bracelet charm from her trip to Japan, and a beautiful Japanese doll dressed as a geisha. She kindled in me my love for all things Asian.
My last visit with my husband was about 6 yrs ago when she had moved to her apartment, along with friends who had moved to Chatham.
I have a memory of her , a tiny little lady wearing a bike helmet on her little bike. She remained active for many years.
She will be missed. Love to her and the family.
