Our sincerest condolences to you and Randy. Your mom was a sweet bundle of adorable cuteness with the most beautiful, infectious smile. I’ll always remember the time we went to lunch and she was so happy to order a burger and fries. When the food arrived, it was huge, and I thought to myself, “How will she ever eat that?” Smiling away, she sat there and ate every last bite—it was such a funny and lovely moment. Awww, thank you Deborah & Mark, Along with her adorable cuteness and infectious smile, mom definitely had a hearty appetite. She could out eat the lot of us, lol. Her favourite food was hamburger and French fries, no matter where we took her out to eat. When we were visiting and I mentioned times shared with you and Mark, she would point to the beautiful plant you gave her, letting me know she knew to whom we were referring. Dear Connie and Randy and family since May’s passing our family has had time to reflect on how fortunate we all were to know and love May. We’ve all been talking about our own personal memories, but the common denominator was how much she was loved and what she meant to all of us. Dear aunt May! She was always my favourite aunt. When I was a kid, we went down to visit for a couple of weeks every summer. I remember the little house in Erieau which was right across from the beach. We loved to swim in the surf, then back to the house for a sumptuous supper. She was a great cook! Then May, Rudy and Connie moved to the lovely house on Chestnut. Over the years as we grew older, we didn’t get to visit as often. I remember her as a very outspoken lady, but always kind and generous. I still have some of the gifts she gave me…a silver temple bracelet charm from her trip to Japan, and a beautiful Japanese doll dressed as a geisha. She kindled in me my love for all things Asian. My last visit with my husband was about 6 yrs ago when she had moved to her apartment, along with friends who had moved to Chatham. I have a memory of her , a tiny little lady wearing a bike helmet on her little bike. She remained active for many years. She will be missed. Love to her and the family.

I loved visiting Connie back in the 70’s at her house on Chestnut where she grew up. May was always busy-house was immaculate and she was a good cook! To the Stacho family and extended Family I was so sorry to hear of the passing of May. May resided in the building where I lived before she moved to the home. I always loved May. She always amazed me getting up in the morning and going to the YMCA. I would meet her on the elevator. Cold winter mornings she would still go as cold as it was. Q: What will you never forget about Maiko "May"? Sincere condolences to May's family in your sad loss. May was a lovely vibrant person whom I got to know through volunteering with her at the Victoria Avenue-St. Paul's United Church Pantry Program and the Friendship Meals. After her health changed and she was unable to help with the Pantry Program, it was always a delight when she and her caregiver would drop by for a short visit during the mornings that we were there. Oh Charlotte, thank you for sharing your thoughts and memories. I did go on a lot about my sweet mom, didn’t I. She was such a feisty little lady. So very much loved. Connie and Randy, my sincere condolences on May's passing. She was my next door neighbour at the apartment building. My dog, Mocha, always stopped at May's door to say hello and get lots of petting and loving. If May saw Mocha in the hallway, she would drop down on her knees or sit on the floor and call her over for attention. May was a lovely woman with a caring heart. May the light that May was be with you for the rest of your lives Connie and Randy. She was a brilliant mentor and we had so many fun and/or enlightening conversations at the YMCA in the Aquafit classes that she attended so faithfully until just a few years ago. She would hoist that backpack up and head out at the end of the class. I admired her so. She spoke of her childhood and fondly of her lovely daughter and son in law. She only saw the bright side of anything. A funny story.... after one of your visits she had a big nap after you left. When she woke up it was 7 and she thought she had slept through the night because it was so light outside. So she hurried and got herself to the Y and at 9 she asked if the class had been cancelled and she hadn't heard about it. The guard knew nothing about the class but said they'd be closing in an hour and May, in her bright and positive way accepted that thinking she had just missed an announcement. Much to her surprise, the closing of the pool and the gradual dusk arriving outside were enough clues. She hadn't slept all night after all. She was just so fun and at ease with herself and the world. We could use more Mays. I know we don't live forever and 92 is a pretty good number and by golly she did it well. My most sad condolences. A bright and beautiful light, I will keep her in my heart forever. Bernice Chartrand

Dear Stacho Family. I met May many times by the friendship she had with my mother years ago. May was learning to swim at the YMCA and she would pop over at the Tomaszewski home after class for some tea and baked goods.
