
Obituary of Paulina Swatyk
Paulina Swatyk, 98, of Chatham, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.
Cherished wife of Ivan Swatyk (predeceased Dec 2015). She was born in Ukraine on September 8, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Nicholas Hawrylezak and the late Mary Olesh.
Loving mother to Stefanie Swatyk (Callipari), Stephan "Steve" (predeceased April 2020) (Penny) Swatyk, and youngest daughter Oksanna (Joe) Lacina.
Loving Baba to Michael (Melanie) Callipari, Sofia (Brandon) Callipari, Kate (Nick) Albanese, Krissie Swatyk, Josh (Becca) Lacina, Jessie (Brady) Lacina and loving Great Baba to Breya and Peter Albanese.
Paulina loved to make us good Ukrainian comfort food for all occasions and tell us stories and old wives' tales from afar. She was known and admired for her sweet demeanor, kind heart and resilient strength. Her memories will keep her close.
Resting at the Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S., Chatham from 11 am until the time of the service at 12 noon on Friday February 7, 2025. A Chapel Service will be then be conducted at 12 noon with Rev. Fr. Peter Hrytsyk officiating.
Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Chatham.
The attending staff at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance were very supportive during this difficult time. Donations can be made to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation on behalf of Paulina. Also want to thank the Community Paramedics, you are a great team.
