It is with deep sadness that we say goodbye to our much loved Uncle and brother-in-law Jim, but we also give thanks that his suffering is over and he can go find his big brother Joe waiting at the 19th hole. Love to all from the Smyth's in St. Thomas and Port Stanley.

So sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. We were Golf buddies since our meeting in 1979. He loved golfing at Maple city for so many years. He was a good player and had holes in ones on all our par 3’s!!! Amazing. Introduced golf to his children , grand children and great grandchildren !!Really going to miss him at Maple city , loved watching him roll in the driveway with that mustang !!! He was so young at heart. Rip Jimmy.
To all the Smyth Family. Heartfelt condolences from all the Dengel’s. Johnny D

Our sincere condolences to you and your family. Omgoodness Herb saw Jim at the golf course all the time. Jim made my wedding band 36 years ago and we saw him at Church many times. He always made a point of coming over to say hello with his infectious smile. What a beautiful obituary and Jim’s faith is such a testament to his love of life, creation and eternal happiness. We are such better people to have known him. Our arms surround you with our love and prayers.
Love you,
Joanie (the Real Loretta) & Herb McCauley

We met Jim and Louise shortly after moving to Chatham 2010 while walking our dogs... Dogs can tell loving and kind people.. Jim and Louise were all of that. They kept the biggest box of dog cookies in their garage and rushed to get some and love on our dogs and visit with us every time we walked past their home... We saw Jim in early Dec he rushed off to get 2 big cookies 1 from him and since Louise was inside he got one from her for Charlie our Springer Spaniel - Jim had a heart of gold and Charlie and we all knew it.. Loved by all and missed by all.
