Obituary of William "Kirk" Stewart

William “Kirk “ Stewart, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away suddenly on Wednesday April 16, 2025, in the comfort of his home in Merlin On. Born on Oct 20, 1955 in Windsor Ontario, first son of the late Dr. John “Duncan” Stewart and Barbara (Hodgson). 

 

Kirk was a man of many talents and passions, he was an entrepreneur of many businesses throughout his years and always had a thirst for knowledge. He was always the man to fix a problem whether it be in work or in life, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him well.  Kirk’s life was a testament to knowledge, laughter and dedication.

 

Kirk was an avid sport shooter, HAM radio enthusiast, audiophile and handyman. His many talents and passions leave a lasting impact on those he shared his time with. He always enjoyed helping friends, family and colleagues with a project and finding a solution. 

 

He is survived by his loving wife Linda (Ryde) and their 2 children Duncan and Barbara (Keith). He will be deeply missed by his 2 grandchildren Laila and Charlie and his cat Oscar. Kirk’s memory will live on through his family, whose lives have been enriched by his unwavering love and support.

 

A celebration of life will be held at a later date to commemorate the life of Kirk.

 

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance would be appreciated.
