Obituary of François Raymond Caron

François Caron (1939-2025)

C’est avec une grande tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de François Caron, survenu paisiblement le 7 juillet 2025, à l’âge de 86 ans, au Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

Né le 13 avril 1939, François laisse dans le deuil son épouse bien-aimée Mae (née Bastien), avec qui il a partagé 64 années d’amour et de dévouement. Il fut un père attentionné et fier de ses enfants : Gisèle (Andrew Kawa), l’abbé Marcel, André (Yvette), Anita (Jim Johnston) et Gilles (Ariane Demers).

Il laisse également dans le chagrin ses 10 petits-enfants et 17 arrière-petits-enfants, à qui il a transmis ses valeurs de foi, de travail et d’amour familial.

Il était le fils de feu Réginald et de feu Lucile (née Adam) et le frère de feu Pierre (Jacqueline Coulombe), feu Hélène (Robert Chauvin), Claire (Stan Bénéteau), Jean-Michel (Annette Laprise), Denise (Jerry Tremblay), Louise Béchard (feu Dave Holt).

Ayant travaillé dans le domaine de l’éducation pendant toute sa carrière professionnelle, François portait un amour et un profond attachement à la terre. Homme de cœur, François était apprécié pour sa bonté, son humour discret et sa fidélité à sa famille et à sa foi. Son souvenir vivra dans le cœur de tous ceux qui l’ont connu et aimé.

La famille recevra parents et amis pour lui rendre hommage au salon funéraire Hinnegan-Peseski, 156 rue William Sud à Chatham le jeudi 10 juillet de 14 heures à 16 heures et de 18 heures à 20 heures. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Immaculée-Conception à Pain Court, Ontario, le vendredi 11 juillet à 10h30, suivies de l’inhumation au cimetière paroissial.

La famille remercie sincèrement le personnel de la Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Eden Villa et Bayshore Services pour les soins attentionnés prodigués à François.

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of François Caron, who passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025, at the age of 86, at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

Born on April 13, 1939, François is survived by his beloved wife Mae (née Bastien), with whom he shared 64 years of love and devotion. He was a caring and proud father of his children: Gisèle (Andrew Kawa), Father Marcel, André (Yvette), Anita (Jim Johnston) and Gilles (Ariane Demers).

He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, to whom he passed on his values of faith, hard work and family love.

He was the son of the late Réginald and the late Lucile (née Adam), and brother of the late Pierre (Jacqueline Coulombe), the late Hélène (Robert Chauvin), Claire (Stan Bénéteau), Jean-Michel (Annette), Denise (Jerry Tremblay), Louise Béchard (the late Dave Holt).

Having worked in education throughout his professional career, François had a deep love and attachment to the land. A kind-hearted man, François was appreciated for his compassion and generosity, his selflessness and his loyalty to his family and his faith. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him.

The family will receive relatives and friends to pay their respects at the Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William Street South, Chatham, on Thursday, July 10, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Pain Court, Ontario, on Friday, July 11 at 10:30 a.m., followed by interment in the parish cemetery.

The family sincerely thanks the staff of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Eden Villa and Bayshore Services for their loving care of François.
