Obituary of William Bevan Carruthers
William (Bill) Carruthers died peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Hospice at age 83.
Sadly missed by his wife Doreen née Davidson, daughter Karen (Scott) Williams, stepchildren Cheryl (Ted) McNicol, Debra Stacey (Bob), Kevin (Sylvia) Tomecek, Todd (Janet) Tomecek. Also survived by his sister Cathy (Ken) Macaulay, brother Michael, and sister Trisha (Robert) Brooksbank.
Predeceased by his parents Philip (1979) and Elizabeth (Betty 2021) Carruthers, infant daughter Claire, and son Cameron (1992). Bill loved being Papa to eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews. He retired from the K.C.R.C school board after 35 years as a teacher and principal.
The Military was a big part of Bill's life, joining the Essex and Kent Scottish Regiment in 1958 and retired from the Association in 2022.
He enjoyed summers at the cottage at Rondeau Park with family and friends and after retirement spent many winters in the Bahamas.

Friends and relatives may visit at the Hinnegan Peseski Funeral Home Ltd., 156 William St. S. Chatham from 11-00AM - 1:00 PM on Wednesday September 3, 2025.
A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Wednesday September 3, 2025 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel.
