Born in Chatham in 1936, son of the late Cecilia (Rose) and Armand Bechard.
Beloved husband of the late Barbara (Dunn) Bechard (2012). Pete enjoyed life: socializing with friends, repeating his stories and jokes, playing cards, rolling dice and hanging out at the local tavern. He was an avid Gardener who loved the outdoors, trimming trees and planting a vegetable garden and sharing the harvest. Pete was a hard worker, always there for the underdog, generous, easy-going, also loved speaking French.
If you visited dad in the winter, you were sure to find him working on a jigsaw puzzle in front of a warm wood-burning fire. In his later years, he picked up woodworking. Friends and family reaped the benefits of his talents.
Pete retired from Navistar International after more than 32 years of service. He adored his many grandkids and great grandkids. He will be missed by all.
Loving father of Mike (Carole) Bechard, Caroline (Jean) Robert, Daniel (Deb) Bechard, Denise (Andre) Myers and Susan (Chad) Durrer. Sadly missed by 11 grandchildren: Matthew, Daniel, Christian, Jordan, Kristen, Megan, Carl , Beverly ,Renee , Gracie and Avery.
