Obituary of Antonio Jose Martens Elias

Suddenly at his residence in Chatham, on Monday September 29, 2025, Antonio Jose Martens Elias, age 88 of Chatham.  

Born in Argeriz, Portugal in 1936 son of the late Carmelina (Martens) and Abel Elias.

Beloved husband of Felisbina Rosa (Felix) Elias, they just celebrated 62 years of marriage this past Sunday. Antonio worked at Eaton Yale until his retirement and was a member of St. Ursula’s Church.

Loving father of  Maria Isabel Elias, Umbelina Elias (Steve Gregetz), Ana Maria (Robert) Sayler, Abel (Elizabeth D'Agostino) Elias and Joe (Anna Wroblewski) Elias.  Cherished “Avo” of Jake, John Michael, Anthony Matthew (Stephanie), Nick, Chris and Sebastian and sadly missed by 1 great grand daughter Bianca Borges. Dear brother of Maria DeCastro (late Manuel) and Jose Elias.

Dear uncle of Carlos (Gracinda) Coelho and brother-in-law of Gracinda (Antonio) Ferreira.

Friends and Relatives may visit at the Hinnegan Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Wednesday October 1, 2025.  

Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted in St. Ursula's Church on Thursday October 2, 2025 at10:00 AM.  

Burial will take place in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
