To Molly and family,
I am very sad to hear of Dave’s passing. Please accept our deepest sympathies. He and I had many adventures together back in the 70’s. He was full of life and energy and we had a lot of fun. I can remember Dave giving me rides to the Chatham train station Sunday evenings to catch the train to London for school after a weekend at home in Chatham. They were very exciting rides in the VW Bug but we always got there on time. No waiting for the train.
Thanks Dave for all the good times.

It was with sadness I heard of the passing of my friend. My deepest condolences to his family and all his many friends.
I met Dave in 2017 and instantly became friends. We shared many fun times together in that short time. We cycled in many groups together in Windsor and Chatham. Dave had many friends and I met a lot of good peope through my friendship with Dave. He took me sailing many times and to numerous jazz concerts. I will remember a weekend in Fort Myers Beach with Dave and friends as I traveled from Arizona to Fort Myers Beach for a weekend of fun. Dave always had a joke and could make you laugh.
He helped me with many projects at my trailer in Erieau and many times would bring his dog (friend) Willow for a swim in the lake.
I am out of the country till June of next year and will not be able to attend the Celebration of Life, however I will always celebrate the friendship and good memories of Dave.
Rest in Peace my friend, John Brown.

Dave your love for adventure and great zest for life was a beautiful experience to be around ! What a fine friend you have been to so many, a dependable man in any time of need made many call out for help, Kath & I and Jared & Selah give our deepest condolences to Molly ,Anne & Lauren, Dave in the Winter of I think 69 you gave me a life long outstanding memory ! you took Andy Stack & I & Bill Leigh out to Rondeau Park starting at the Point, although bitter cold the entire park was in deep silence. You insisted we bring our Skates ,there was a marsh that ran right along the edge of the road and we skated our hearts out, shouting and laughing in the most beautiful Winter air , the feeling & laughter was electric, you were all faster skaters I swear God himself smiled on all of us, we did a round trip and when we put ur boots back on at the infamous Red Beetle you found this giant red & gold huge Fish frozen in the Ice suspended in time, we all stared at your new found treasure and you asked of us " will he come back to life when this thaws in the Spring ? Andy said " Dave don't be crazy that thing is dead" Dave you got fixated and said "I'm ginna hack him out of there and thaw him out" After an hour of all of us hacking away with our skates we gave up, but you were a dog with a bone and you hacked out a block of ice with the fish encased & we went back to your place, while we played Pool we could here with pans clanging and commenting "I got get this done before my Mom gets home" we all played pool while listening to "King Crimson" and didn't here "Wonder Barb" pull up, she stepped in the kitchen and instantly wailed "Dave whats that smell in my oven" when she lowered that door it wasn't God smiling now it was Satan ! The smell was beyond description, Andy quipped "told ya it was dead" Dave U-Da-Man !!!! "Thanks for the memories"

Molly,Paul,Debbie and all the Rowland’s family.
I am far away from home right now and I am saddened to see that Dave has passed.
When my husband Jim worked at Rowland’s, Dave and I would often meet up and share a few jibs and jabs. He asked me each and every time how many cats I had in my household. I always gave him the same answer which was 5 cats. He always shook his had and then said nice to see you crazy cat lady!!!”
Hold all your memories close and soon they will bring a smile to your face and peace to your heart!
Warmest Regards

I had the opportunity to know Dave for only a few short years and for a number of very sporadic opportunities (CSBS concerts the odd CSBS meeting - they were always odd when Dave was present) but one that stands out most significantly was the time he (along with myself, Bob Christmas and "Rolly") drove to Nashville, Kentucky to attend the Stacy Mitchhart CD release party.
Wow...what a ride, what a weekend, what a storyteller. Dave was captivating, funny, inciteful, honest and always charming. While we both boasted of being wistfully desiring each other's spouses (a character trait of which I am sure Molly is fully aware - I know my wife Anne, is ) I find it interesting that the comic ease at which we felt in sharing such an intimate feeling was so easily attained in such a short and brief friendship; one that is usually attained after many years of knowing one another. He was easy to admire and become comfortable with in any setting. I am sure those that know him better will attest to that.
In my life, Dave will surely be missed, and his presence in my life, albeit short, was truly memorable and I feel proud and humbled to have known such a great guy and shared such good times.
My utmost condolences to those who knew him more than me and, undoubtedly, will miss him even that much more.

Dear Molly and family,
My deepest of sympathy for the loss of Dave. I met Dave through a mutual friend years ago. He became my handyman while I lived in Chatham. Dave also helped me set up my office when I moved into Lambton County in 2014.
I found him to be such a kind and gentle soul. He always reminded me of my big brother Bob, whom I lost many years ago. Whenever I would talk to Dave, it was like having a conversation with my brother.
I pray your cherished memories of him will help ease the sorrow of your loss. He will be greatly missed.

Gone too soon.
I've been blessed to have known Dave since I was in my teens, and as anyone who was lucky enough to know him over the years is aware, he was a great friend... unfailingly fun, great company and there to pitch in if a helpful hand was needed. Dave was so spirited and full of life that I (and all who knew him, I'm sure) struggle to believe he's gone.
My deepest, heartfelt sympathy to Dave's family. ❤️
