Obituary of Michael McEllistrum

Suddenly at his residence, Chatham, on Sunday February 8, 2026, Michael McEllistrum Sr. at the age of 68 years.  Beloved spouse of Lennie Carr. Born in Chatham in 1957 son of the late Albina (Herk) and Edward McEllistrum.

Michael was a Millwright with the Ford Motor Company until his retirement.  

Beloved husband of Lenora “Lennie” Carr.  Loving father of  Kristie McEllistrum, Laura Tannebaek and Michelle McEllistrum. Cherished grandfather of Sierrah, Jayden, Bently Owen, Lia, Zander and Lucas and great grandfather of Alaina, Cyennah and Sawyer. Dear brother of Christine Bartlett. He is predeceased by his son Michael Jr. (2021).

Friends and relatives may visit at the Hinnegan Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham from 6-8 pm on Monday February 16, 2026.

A Chapel Service will be conducted in the Chapel on Tuesday February 17, 2026 at 11 am with Pastor Greg Simpson officiating.  

Cremation has taken place.
