Obituary of Irene Martin

Peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham, on Tuesday February 17, 2026, Irene Marie Martin, beloved wife of Gerald Martin at the age of 86 years.  

Born in Dover Township in 1939, daughter of the late Florence (Charron) and Seville Cartier.  Loving mother of Betty Ann (Greg) Darlow, Shelly Martin, Bryon (Diana) Martin, Barry Martin and Dean (Dawn) Martin.  Sadly missed by 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Sandy Robinson, Clifford Cartier and Gerald Cartier.

She is predeceased by sisters; Sharon Hinckley and Vickie Pilon and by brothers Leo and Gerald Cartier.  

Friends and relatives may visit at the Hinnegan Peseski Funeral Home Ltd., 156 William St. S. Chatham from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Thursday February 19, 2026.  

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday February 20, 2026 at 10:00 AM in St. Ursula's Church.

Cremation will take place after the Mass.
