Obituary of Gail Anne Oxley
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our sister, aunt and friend, Gail Anne Oxley.
She leaves behind her sister Sharon (late Leonard), her brothers Charles(late Jackie) and Keith(late Ruth Ann), and many nieces and nephews, Corey Jubenville (Vanessa), Julian Jubenville( Maryam), Chuck(Amanda), Crystal(JF), Julie and John Oxley, Michelle Wade, Kurt and Luke Crummy and great nieces Jessica, Alexis, Mary, Charlotte and Stephanie Oxley and great - nephew Louis Jubenville- Fazl.
Gail led an interesting and vital life, often fulfilling the role of generous friend and supporter of her sister’s shenanigans. In her own right, she was both a soccer and baseball coach, and played multiple musical instruments including time with the Chatham Concert Band, her special love lately being the ukelele. She loved Tai Chi, and became a teacher of several classes. She also loved to dance, and learned to tap at a later age.
Gail was a huge supporter of the arts, volunteering as a gallery docent, acting in plays, props manager for others, and secretary of the Sears Drama Festival CK committee for 20 years.
As well, she was an early animal rescuer, doting on her dog Barkley and many cats, Tessa being the last. Most of all she will be remembered for her kindness and generous spirit, always there to lend a helping hand.
Cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Life will occur at a later date.
