He will also be missed by his dear friend Grant and by Ross, whom he worked for when he needed a helping hand driving the tractor for plots, as well as the many friends he made at LCRR, especially Jenna, Kennedy, Brittney, Lorraine, and Lori, and Bayshore nurses especially Marcia and Chris.
In the 1960s, Norm worked for Bishop Farms and Chapple Farms, working with cattle. In 1971, he farmed a few acres and later started with King Grain as a labourer and truck driver for over 40 years until his retirement. He loved driving truck, bringing seed corn and beans across Ontario, and was also a dedicated groundskeeper who loved being on his lawn mower. Alongside his family, he operated “Myers Cleaning Services” for over 10 years. Mom never wanted him to rest after work hours, and together they cleaned many businesses across Chatham-Kent. Even after retirement, he continued cutting grass for businesses and neighbours up until the age of 80. He loved his Kubota.
Three months ago, we celebrated his 90th birthday with a party. Many family and friends attended, and he was so happy to see everyone. We even had a band because he loved country music. Near the end, he was able to FaceTime with his grandson Patrick and family to meet his 2-day-old great-grandson, Jude. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy, and they always made him smile.
Friends and family may visit at the Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral home, 156 William St. S, Chatham, on Wednesday May 13 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A funeral mass will be conducted in Immaculée Conception Church on Thursday May 14, 2026 at 10 AM. Burial will take place in Saint Philippe Cemetery.
