Obituary of Jacomina Haest

Peacefully at Eden Villa, Chatham on Saturday August 15, 2026, Jacomina “Mimi” Haest, at the age of 103 years. 

Born in The Netherlands in 1923, daughter of the late Seraphina (Mattens) and Marinus VanGessel.

Beloved wife of the late Maurice Haest (2013).

Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and special Aunt to Tim Vandendries. Loving and dear sister of Nelly Ars.

She is predeceased by siblings; Maria Vandendries, Catrien Stoop, Antonius VanGessel and Marie Rentmeester.

Friends and relatives may visit at the Hinnegan Peseski Funeral Home Ltd., 156 William St. S. Chatham on Thursday August 20, 2026 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm.  

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 am in St. Joseph’s Church.

Interment will be with her husband Maurice in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.

Donations to the Charity of One’s Choice would be appreciated by the family.
