Obituary of Joseph Henry Lauzon

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph (Joe) Henry Lauzon on August 27, 2026 surrounded by his family.  Joe was the son of the late Alfred (Alf) and June Lauzon.

Joe was a carpenter by trade he began his career in building houses then industrial buildings which landed him his dream job with the Lambton district school board for 30 years retiring in 2021.

Joe is survived by his wife and best friend of 51 years Sueanne. He also will be so deeply missed by his four children Niki & Jim Stanley, Kim & Tavis McLean, Jeff Lauzon and Jenny & Richard Rowe.  His grandchildren Nicolas (Jayden) Stanley, Kali Lezama(Matt), Phoenix Lezama (Cece), Emma & Maddux McLean. 

Deeply Missed by his two brothers Gerard Lauzon (Susan 2008) (Linda 2025) and John & Darlene Lauzon (Patty 2008) as well as many nieces and nephews. Also missed by his brother in law Steven Sweetman & Kathy.

Joe loved a good yard sale on a Saturday Morning, strolling the aisles at the grocery stores looking for a good bargain, swinging the golf club on a Tuesday with friends or stopping by to have a coffee at the shop with former coworkers.

Joe was a gentle man, a serious man, a man of principal and values; he could always be counted on for anything. A phone call away, weather it was a door needed to be installed, a tire needing to be changed he was always there to help.  He will be remembered by his quick wit, a great story teller and the best listener; he gave the best advice or solution to a problem.

Joe had a full life a wonderful life filled with so much love and joy, his last few years have been tough health wise but always overcoming each obstacle with a positive attitude and smile on his face.  In April of this year Joe was hospitalized for 6 weeks which really took a toll on him but again he made it through. He went home where he fought hard each day however his body had enough Joe was completely at peace and was able to pass at home with family by his side just as he wanted.

As per Joe's wishes Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Death is nothing at all. It does not count. I have only slipped away into the next room. Nothing has happened. Everything remains exactly as it was. Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by the old familiar name. Speak of me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference into your tone. Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was. There is absolute and unbroken continuity. I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just round the corner. All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before. How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!

When I come to the end of the road
