Even when you were a child, you had a quiet, caring personality for others and a love for animals. You had that shy little smile! You grew into a strong, loving woman and mother. You could never see others in need - you helped so many people but yet felt alone at times. You never realized how strong of a person you were! You were a hard worker, never materialistic, proud or boastful but was the silent prayer warrior for your family and loved ones. You had a deep faith and trust in God. You had a heart of gold and instilled your moral values to your children and grandchildren. You were so pleased with your children and grand babies--family was your biggest joy! You were a confidant and excellent listener for others and never had a bad word to say about anyone.
You always wondered what was your purpose here. I believe that it was to teach many of us how to love unconditionally, encourage, inspire, care for others and be a pillar of strength. No matter how much physical pain that you were in, you took awesome care of Mom and others.
We travelled together, laughed together and cried together. It is unbelievable that we will never talk again or see each other or hug one another. I will never see your beautiful smile nor hear you say "Love you Deb"! You will be so deeply missed Gwen but never ever forgotten!!! I know that you are resting now in Jesus’ arms with no pain, surrounded by Mom and Dad and many other loved ones. You left an awesome example and testimony of unconditional love. I can only hope to do the same!
Love you always! Until we meet again, Your sister Debbie!

Today is Gwen’s celebration of life and when I was asked if I had a poem or verse I would like read I declined but I came across this poem and I had to share it with everyone. It is a beautiful piece and certainly how much she meant to me.
How was it I never saw your wings when you were with me?
When you closed your eyes and soared to the heavens
I could hear the faint flutter of your wings as you left.
Your body no longer on this side your spirit here eternally I see your halo shine.
I close my eyes and see multi-coloured wings surround me in my saddest moments and my happiest times.
Sister my angel, god has given you your assignment always my sister forever my angel.
You fly into my dreams and when I am asleep I feel your wings brush against my face
wiping away my tears I shed since I can no longer hold you in my arms but in my heart.
You earned those wings dear sister and you will always be my angel eternal.

As you proceed with your day, please know that I am with you in heart and mind. Sorry I could not make it in person, as the drive is hard enough in the summer, and I would not attempt it at this time of year. Gwen always had a special place in Paul's heart. maybe they will meet again. Give my best to Cathy, Brian and Gwen's family, as I do not have email info for them. Love you all

Sent to Debbie from Rose:
It is with a heavy heart that I write this message. I am so sorry for your loss of your sweet sister Gwen. My heart goes out to you, Cathy and Brian and to Larry and their children and grandchildren.
Today will be a tough day but I know that your faith is strong and God will pull you through. We know Gwen is in a better place with loved ones. That is the peace that we get when we believe in Jesus.
In lieu of flowers or a donation to heart and stroke, my sisters and I would like to give money for a tree to be planted in Gwen’s honour.
Would you be okay if I sent the money to you by etransfer and you could give cash or a gift card from a local nursery, to Larry and the family could pick out a tree in the spring to plant in Gwen’s memory? Another option is a bench or yard ornament from The Birdies Nest. We’d like the family to decide what they would prefer.
Would you be okay with implementing this for us when you feel up to it? There’s no rush. I just wanted you to know of our intentions. Please let the family know that we are thinking and praying for them today and in the days to come as they grieve for Gwen as a wife, sister, mom, Aunt, gramma, cousin and friend.
Linda, Susan, Ruth and I won’t be attending Gwen’s celebration of life today for various reasons but we are sending love and prayers for the whole family. We hope that today will be a blessing to all as it often is when family comes together to support and share in the good times we all had with Gwen over the years. Cherish your memories- it’s what we have when our loved one is gone.
God bless you and the family Debbie. Know you are loved and in our thoughts and prayers. We’re all sorry we couldn’t make arrangements to get there today but please know you all are in our thoughts. I’m so sorry for your loss. Your family has been through so many losses.
But through all our sorrow God is good and is by our side. Lean on Him.

My deepest condolences to all of you. I am truly saddened by Aunt Gwen's passing. I will miss her immensely. She was the kindest, most caring soul. I wish there were words of comfort I could say, but I know they don't exist. I'm thinking of you.
