Obituary of Patricia "Pat" Charlebois

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Mom, Patricia Marie (Pat) CHARLEBOIS (Blonde) who passed peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 9. Born in Chatham on July 11, 1929. Predeceased by husband Pierre Yvon (Feb 11, 1999), parents Arthur and Grace and siblings John, Joanne, Betty, and Marilyn.

Greatly missed by her ‘favourite’ children Marc, Colette, Paul, Suzanne and Keith, André and Amanda, Philippe and Jenette, as well as 8 beloved Grandchildren and 9 Great-grandchildren.  Mom exemplified goodness and kindness and always tried to see the good in everyone. She was definitely ‘a keeper’.

She lived for gatherings of family and friends, enjoying the never ending stories and laughter, and was always there as our lifelong DD. When we were young, she ensured loving comfort and fun, from tobogganing, snowmobiling or river skating parties, to the Erie Beach cottage and weekend boating fun at Grassy (where she’d pack ‘everything but the kitchen sink’).

As we grew, she was just ‘Pleased as Punch’ to play a rousing family game of Pass the Ace. Mom was a long-time bowler and avid card player.  More recently, she found her passion in Scrabble games with Shirley and the girls at Eden Villa. Both her and Papa’s happiest, proudest times were when their children and grandchildren were all together.

They so enjoyed the frivolities! Those memories will live on forever.

Friends and family may visit at Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Tuesday February 12 from 7-9 pm.

A service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, February 13 at 11 am officiated by Michelle O’Rourke.

A luncheon to follow immediately at the Chatham Granite Club, 41 William St. N.
