Obituary of Dorothy Josephine Schram

At Riverview Gardens Nursing Home, Chatham, on Thursday April 25, 2019, Dorothy Josephine Schram, age 87, of Chatham, Born August 30, 1931, Chatham, Ontario, died April 25, 2019, Chatham, Ontario.

Surviving are her Children and Grandchildren: Joyce Allely (Gary – 2014) (Gig, Chris), Linda Caron (2016) (Allen Serruys – 2012) (Renee, Bobby, Shelley, Colleen), Jeanne Labonte (Stephen) (Carey, Ashley), Brad Schram (2005) (Christine) (Brandon, Tami), Terry Charron (Gerald) (Nick, Jeremy, Joshua, Andrew), Timothy Schram (Faye) (Jaclyn, Adam, Ken), Pat Bolduc (Claude) (Greg, Geoff, Johanne, Mitch), Rob Schram (Patti), Rocky Schram (Janet) (Richard, Connor), and 38 Great Grandchildren. Fondly remembered by special niece Hazel Lachine. Predeceased by her husband Bernard (1972); daughter Michele (1962); grandson Dana (1981); grandson Benjamin (1982); son Brad (2005); son-in-law Allen (2012); son-in-law Gary (2014); daughter Linda (2016); and great granddaughter Ciara (2018). Also predeceased by brother Roland Weedon and sisters Ruth Cudney; Tillie Beckart and Flora Ellis.

Dorothy was a longtime employee of Public General Hospital.  Upon her retirement she enjoyed spending time gardening, walking her dog and volunteering with the V.O.N. at Geranium House and then later at Eden Villa.   Dorothy could often be found enjoying her beloved classical music while redecorating her home which she took immense pride in.  Dorothy’s family was truly a joy to her.  The legacy of her zest for life will live on in her many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place. 

A Celebration of the Life of Dorothy Schram will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 6, 2019, at St. Paul’s Congregational Church, 450 Park Avenue West, Chatham, Ontario.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Eden Villa or the charity of your choice.
