Obituary of Paul James McGrail
On May 30th, 2020 Paul James McGrail peacefully passed away at home with his family by his side.
Born March 14, 1954 to the late Frederick and Elizabeth (McCormick) McGrail.
Loving husband of 46 years to Deb and cherished father to Erin (Al), Jamie, Jordan (Chris) and Jillian
(D.1988).
Beloved Papa of Trenton, Emma, Sarah and Jennaca.
Survived by his siblings, Patricia, Jean and Joseph McGrail. Also survived by his mother-in-law, Edmera
Stanski, sister-in-law, Sandra (Brian) Eagen, brother-in-law, Mark (Jill) Stanski, and many nieces and
nephews.
Predeceased by his brother, William (d.1995), father-in-law, Stanley Stanski (d.2005), and sister-in-law,
Patricia Hartford (d.2002). The family would like to acknowledge long time friends, Karen and Wayne
Chapple; Elaine Ross; Julie and Randall Brown; Donna Chapple and Joe Legue.
Paul was a long time John Deere dealer, taking the reins as President/General manager in 1988 after his
dad passed away. Loved boating, was an avid traveler and a Harley Davidson owner. (Oh The Places We
Would Go!) Paul spent many hours in the rink coaching his grandchildren from the sidelines in both
hockey and figure skating.
Paul was actively involved in his community through many boards and committees throughout his years.
When it is safe to do so, we will gather with family and friends to celebrate his life.
The family would like to give special thanks to his care team for making it possible to bring Paul home.
From the VON Lisa Babcock and Sonny, Dr. Dickson from emerge, family physician Dr. Rowden, Paul’s
sister Jean, and Paul’s night shift nurse (you know who you are).
In lieu of flowers, friends planning an expression of remembrance are asked to please consider donating
to the William McGrail Scholarship Fund (drop off or mail cheque to funeral home), VON, or Chatham-Kent Hospice.
P.S.
Papa, if you are skating in heaven, please take off your skate guards!
Love
Trent, Emma, Sarah and Jennaca
