Obituary of Gladys Frances Miller

The family of Gladys Frances Miller would like to announce her peaceful passing, at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on November 25, 2023, at the age of 95.

Gladys graduated from St. Joseph Hospital, London, as a registered nurse and spent her working life caring for patients in various hospitals until moving to Chatham, where she served as a Head Nurse for many years at St. Joseph Hospital. 

Gladys had a passion for exploring the world and throughout her life, travelled to countless countries.

After her retirement, Gladys took up golf and Bridge, both of which she played enthusiastically. A devout Catholic, she was an active member of St. Joseph parish where she had many friends.

Gladys was predeceased by her parents, Elizabeth Schneckenberger and Patrick Miller, her sister, Marion Pook (George), and her brother, Morris (Jean). She will be greatly missed by four nieces: Maureen Goslin (Douglas), Colleen Sanson, Mary Ann Pelley and Beth Miller as well as seven nephews: Pat Miller (Patti), Michael Miller (Janice), Mark Miller (Halley), Morris Pook, Michael Pook, Paul Pook and George Pook (Mandy). Also loved by many great and great great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their appreciation both  to the staff at Grand Retirement Village where Gladys spent her final years and to the staff on 3rd Medical and 3rd and 4th Continuing Care at  CKHA.

Friends and relatives may visit at Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Wednesday November 29, 2023 from 7-9 pm.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday November 30, 2023 at 10 am in St. Joseph’ Church. 

 Burial will be in St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery, Thamesville.
