Obituary of Johanna Martha Hoeymakers

Peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Chatham Campus, on Tuesday December 12, 2017, Johanna Martha Hoeymakers, age 91, of Chatham, beloved wife of the late Peter Hoeymakers (1992). 

Born in Horst, the Netherlands on August 10, 1926, to a large family of brothers and sisters. Daughter of the late Mary (Baltussen) and Martinus Classens.  She immigrated to Canada in 1951 and started her family with Peter.

Loving mother of Mary (deceased 2015) and son-in-law Will Larsen, a son Henry and a son John and his wife Linda. Cherished grandmother of Mark (Ella) Larsen and Amy (Erik) Weins and great grandmother of Jarrette, Tiffany and Sarah. Dear brother of Leo Classens. Predeceased by many brothers and sisters. Loving aunt of Mary and Casey VandenDiepstraten, Nell and Wayne Evans, Marty and Cathy Classens, Tina Classens, Ann and Claude Pardis, Jerry Classens, Will Classens, Trudy (Mike) Dutot, Rose Classens and Herb Classens. Special friend to Corrie Vanderwal. Predeceased by Joe and Rene Classens. 

Johanna was a devout Catholic and parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church since 1962 and a strong believer in the power of prayer. 

Friends and relatives may visit at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Sunday December 17, 2017 from 2 - 4 and 7 – 9 pm, where Vigil Prayers will be offered at 3 pm.  

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday December 18, 2017 at 10 am in Blessed Sacrament Church.  

Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery.

Donations to the Charity of One’s Choice would be appreciated.
