Obituary of Gregory George Bolohan

Please share a memory of Gregory to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Peacefully, at Riverview Gardens Nursing Home in Chatham, on Sunday, April 12, 2020, Gregory George Bolohan, age 81, of Chatham, with his beloved wife Pauline “Vicky” Bolohan (McKeon) by his side went into God’s arms. Born in Tilbury, he is the son of the late Jacob and Mary Bolohan. George met the love of his life while he was a Tilbury Police Officer. Soon afterwards he purchased and operated the Blue Bonnet Restaurant & Tavern in Tilbury, Ontario. Over thirty years of the communities gathering for coffees, great food, celebrations and entertainment were served by George. He would often say that his biggest accomplishment; the one that he treasured the most was his family. His smile was infectious when he talked about them all. He is survived by his children Lisa (Gord) Quinlan, Stephen (Sheri Vandekemp) Bolohan, Angela (Jerry) Corso, Keith (Michelle-predeceased 2018) Bolohan. His “7 are Heaven” grandchildren, Kyle, Jacob Quinlan, Patrick (friend Chloe), Gregory Bolohan, Gabriella (friend Josh), Benjamin, and Julianna Corso. George was a humble person with a commitment to community service. He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus member, Deputy Reeve for the Town of Tilbury, a Tilbury Councilor, St. Francis Parish volunteer and many more acts of service and kindness. His legacy of service and kindness continues on through his children and grandchildren. George, an avid Detroit Tigers fan, enjoyed travelling and telling a good joke. If you put the music on it would be hard to get that man off the dance floor especially when he went into his jitterbug moves. Mom will miss her dance partner of 56 years. He enjoyed playing his daily Rummy-O games with Mom as he knew no dinner until at least 10 games were played. He enjoyed going for walks and stopping to chat with those he knew, and didn’t know, as he had a way of making you feel like you were the most important person that day. He is survived by his sisters Elizabeth Myers, Mary Palmer, and many nieces, nephews and godchildren. He is also survived by Vicky's brothers and sisters: Ken(Sheri) McKeon, Eileen Prysiazniuk, Helen(Gary) Bauer, Peter(Evelyn) McKeon, Theresa (Frank) Forget, Cathy(Bob) Scherle, and Joe(Michelle Konarski) McKeon. Predeceased by his sisters Dorothy(Art) Young, Lena Bolohan, Margaret(Leon) Duquette. His brothers William Bolohan, John(Jean) Bolohan, Leo(Theresa) Bolohan, Costan(Ria) Bolohan. His brother in-laws Gerry Myers and Alvin Palmer. On Vicky’s side of the family he is predeceased by her parents Carlyle and Josephine McKeon. His brothers-in-law Sylvester McKeon, Vincent McKeon, and Paul Prysiazniuk. Burial to take place at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Tilbury. Donations to “Outreach For Hunger Chatham-Kent” would be appreciated. Online condolences welcomed at www.peseski.com.
