Obituary of Sister Jane Marie Furlong

FURLONG, SISTER JANE MARIE entered Eternal Life on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 in Chatham, Ontario. She entered the Ursuline Sisters of Chatham in 1946, recently having celebrated her 70th jubilee. During those years she served the Ursuline Community as Residence Supervisor of the children at Glengarda, Windsor, and with the day students at Brescia College, London. She lived at Brescia College until 1997 and then moved to Chatham. She was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1927, the daughter of the late Bernard and Florence (Green) Furlong. Sister is survived by brothers, Terence and Brian, a sister Rosemary, cousin Bill Furlong of California and nephews, Tim and Doug Williamson. She is predeceased by brothers Sean and Michael and sisters, Theresa, Mary Grace Haggerty and Madeline Williamson. Relatives and friends are invited to join the Ursuline Community at a prayer service to be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Kiva at Villa Angela, 20 Merici Way, Chatham. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Kiva at Villa Angela, Chatham. Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Donations in memory of Sister Jane Marie may be made to “Chatham Ursuline Charities” or to the charity of your choice.
