Obituary of Arthur "Art" Leclair
At the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Chatham Campus, Chatham, on Tuesday December 28, 2021, Arthur “Art” Joseph Omer Leclair, age 81, of Grande Pointe, beloved husband of Cornelia (nee VanRaay) Leclair. Son of the late Leo and Edna Leclair. Art and Corrie were married for 60 years.
Loving father of their four children: Leon and Colette, Brian and Ruth, Jeanine and Randy, Jacqueline and Paul. Son-in-law of the late Jack and Cornelia VanRaay. Sadly missed by grandchildren: Kristopher and Bree, Kaelyse and Mike, Joshton, Spencer and Ashley, William and Emily, Benjamin and Melissa, Camille and Brad, Evan and by great-grandchildren: Elena, Nathan, Jacob and Alexander. Brother of Oscar Leclair (deceased) and wife Annette and Margaret (deceased) and husband Jack VanRaay.
Art will be missed by many friends and family. He was a farmer for all his life. Art loved playing cards with friends, fishing with his brother Oscar and later with his grandchildren. He so enjoyed his coffee time. He was known by all as the cookie man for his cookies (lukken) and oliebollen that he distributed throughout Chatham-Kent and he was a member of the Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus.
Friends and relatives may visit at Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Thursday December 30, 2021 from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM only, you do not need to sign up for visitation.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday December 31, 2021 at 11:00 AM in Blessed Sacrament Church.
