The the Murphy Family. I’m so sorry for your loss of brother, uncle and dear friend. I’m sure it will be difficult to imagine your lives without him but hopefully thinking of happier times and dusting off the many memories you have of Gerry will bring you comfort. I’m sure Gerry’s many friends and family who have gone before him will be waiting at heavens gate to welcome him home I worked with Gerry for many years while we both worked at Jostens and always appreciated his hard work, dedication and his sense of humour. My deepest condolences. Irene Bueckert

I first met Gerry about 1979 when I was in grade 10 and Gerry was our yearbook advisor we developed a friendship that endured thru many changes and the seperation of thousands of miles.Credit for that belongs to Gerry he took time for people, lots of people . The friends of Gerry are Legion. I'm honoured to be in that Group. A great wit and an absolutely lovely human being the world is a better place becuse he was in it.

I am so sad to hear this news. Gerry called me a few weeks ago and we had a great chat. We have been friends since our time at Kings in the early 60s, and I ended up in Bracebridge because he encouraged me to come here to teach. We stayed in touch on and off over the years, and it was always good to hear from him. My sincerest condolences to his family.

To the Murphy family, please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of Gerry. He was a good mentor and friend, ever since he caught my group of young adults boarding the bus at World Youth Day in 2002. He took us under his wings, challenging us when we needed to be challenged, teasing us when we were getting too unruly and praying for us when we needed it most. We owe much of it to Gerry for who we are today. Although I am a province away, he and your family will be in my prayers, including a set of masses for his intention. May Gerry's soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace.
