Obituary of Nora Sosnowski

Peacefully at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Saturday March 12, 2022, Nora (Honorata) Sosnowski, age 93, beloved wife of Chester Sosnowski (1982).  Born in Nowa Dombrowa, Poland, 1928, daughter of the late Josefa (Harasimowscz) and Konstanty Ptaszynski. 

Loving mother of; Ed (Jackie) Sosnowski and Helen (Joe) Vilaranda. Dearest grandmother of; Darrell (Julie) Sosnowski, Danielle (Lee) Lather, Brian (Molly ) Vilaranda, Matthew and Tyler Vilaranda and great grandmother to Paige (Tyler) Sosnowski, Liam and Mya Lather, Brody and Zoey Sosnowski. 

Predeceased by brothers, James Ptaszynski (2014) and Edward Ptaszynski (1992).

Nora immigrated with her family to Sudbury, ON in1936.  Nora worked for Campbell’s for several years, was a member of the Alter Society at OLOV Church, serving several years as head cook for Polish Canadian Club and cook for OLOV Church. Nora was also a longtime member of the Polish Canadian Club.  Nora’s family was also one of the original founders of the OLOV Church and Polish Canadian Club.  

Friends and relatives may visit Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Tuesday March 15, 2022 from 2-4PM and 7-9 PM.   A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday March 16, 2002 at 11 AM in Our Lady of Victory Church.

Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
