Obituary of Michael Birkby
Mike farmed his entire life in Harwich Township. This was what he loved to do. He also loved to keep his eyes open for his next tractor purchase and if there was a Massey for sale somewhere he knew where it was. His love of vehicles and Ford trucks was also a known hobby. Back in the day he would be seen driving around checking out his crops with his good friends JD and Ed Smith.
He will be forever missed by his cousin/nephew and daily caregiver Brent Birkby (Kim), cousins Penny (Ed Smith) all from Chatham, Linda and George Vandenburg and family and special grandchildren Mike Birkby (Leah) and their boys who he enjoyed their visits when home from Texas, Scott Birkby (Nicole), Michelle Roy (Dave), David Smith (Nicole) and their boys who Mike enjoyed their frequent visits and help when needed. He will also be missed by his good friends Anivel Decosta, John Derksen and family and Joe Roesch.
Born in Chatham, son of the late Mary (Holloran) and Michael Birkby.
Mike was also a lifetime member of St. Joseph’s Parish, Chatham.
