Obituary of Sr. Benigna Macadaeg

MACADAEG, SISTER BENIGNA, (Benigna Rosevida Libed), formerly Sr. Maria Rosario, entered eternal life on Sunday, April 24, 2022 in Chatham, Ontario.  She was born in Manila, Philippines in 1936 the daughter of the late Celedonia and Juan Macadaeg. 

 

She entered the Ursuline Sisters of Chatham in 1962.  During her religious life she served as a nurse in Chatham and Windsor. She was also an avid gardener and spent many hours tending the flowers, especially the roses. She is survived by her siblings, Evangeline, Noemi, Consuelo, and Rosario and many nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her parents, and brothers Jesus, Antonio, Ernesto, Frank, Reynaldo and Leonilo and sisters, Esther Macadaeg Manela and Carmelita Agpalo.  

 

Relatives and friends are invited to visitation at the Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, Chatham on Wednesday, April 27th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

 

The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday, April 28th, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 145 Victoria Avenue, Chatham.

 

Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.

 

The Ursuline Sisters would appreciate mask wearing during visitation and at Mass. 

 

Donations in memory of Sister Benigna may be made to “Chatham Ursuline Charities”, 20 Merici Way, Chatham, Ontario  N7L 3L8, the M.S. Society or to the charity of your choice.
