Obituary of Margaret Marie Bossy
With heavy hearts we are saddened to announce the passing of the matriarch of our family, Margaret Marie Bossy (Lanckriet) who died peacefully at the age of 93 surrounded by her children at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on Monday May 2, 2022.
A lifelong Chatham-Kent resident, Marg is predeceased by her husband, former MP and MPP, Maurice, her parents Victor and Alice Lanckriet, infant daughter Annie, granddaughter Karyn, and grandson Matthew.
She is survived and forever loved by her seven children, Alice (Brent) Chinnick, Andrew (Deb) Bossy, Victor (Marcia) Bossy, Gerry (Kim) Bossy, Marianne Stirling, Julie (Dan) Marchand, and George (Sharon) Bossy and by her sister Germaine Tulen (Lanckriet). She will be fondly remembered by her 20 grandchildren and her 20 great grandchildren.
Marg was known for her baking and we continue to use the recipes that she gathered in her own cookbook. We will cherish the over 50 afghan blankets that she skillfully crocheted for each of us, some of which she recently completed. An avid reader and fiercely competitive game player, she would routinely complete the daily crosswords in less than 15 minutes or read a complete novel in less than a day. Along with her only love and partner Maurice, she had a deep devotion toward her home life, family and church.
Friends and family may visit at Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Thursday, May 5th, 2022 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and from 7:00 – 9:00 pm.
The family requests that all visitors please wear a mask.
Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 6th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Ursula’s Roman Catholic Church, 205 Tweedsmuir Ave. W. Chatham.
Interment in St. Philippe Cemetery, Grand Pointe following mass.
Donations will be gratefully received at Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation.
