Obituary of Clarita Litschko

Please share a memory of Clarita to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Clarita passed away peacefully with her husband at her side at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on May 21, 2022 at the age of 81.  Born in Chatham she was the daughter of Earl and Gladys Broad (Mulhern).  Beloved wife of 61 years to Leo Litschko.

Dear mother to Michael, Thomas (Barbara), Christopher (Juliette), and Paul (Catherine).  Proud grandma to Joshua, Mara, Emma, Jack, Kayla, and John.  Dear sister to Margaret Beldock (2010) and Ted Broad.

Clarita will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She touched the lives of all she met with her kindness and wonderful sense of humour. Her life was her Catholic faith and family.  She enjoyed many wonderful adventures with her husband and friends in Europe, Middle East, Africa, China, Tibet, and Russia.    ‘To Travel is to Live’ (Hans Christian Anderson).

Clarita’s family is forever grateful to Dr. N. Patel, Dr. A. Xencostas (Oncologist), and R.N.P. Corinne Pollard at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and especially Chatham-Kent Hospice for the exceptional care and compassion.  The family also wishes to express our sincere thanks for the comfort and support given to us by our many friends, neighbours, and relatives at a time when it was most appreciated.

Family and friends will be received at Hinnegan Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William Street S, Chatham on Friday June 3, 2022 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.  Mass of the resurrection will be celebrated at St. Ursula’s Church, 205 Tweedsmuir Street W, at 10 AM on Saturday June 4, 2022.

Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.

A reception at St. Ursula’s Hall to follow.

Out of an abundance of caution, attendees are asked to wear a mask at all functions.

In lieu of flowers a donation to the Chatham-Kent Hospice or the Cancer Society would be appreciated.
