Obituary of Sr. Loretta Vogt
Vogt, Sister Loretta, known in religion as Mother Ignatia, entered Eternal Life on Monday June 6, 2022 in Chatham, Ontario.
She was born in Odessa, Saskatchewan in 1927, the daughter of the late Katherine (Biegler) and Vincent Vogt. In 1935, Sr. Loretta entered the Ursuline Sisters of Vibank, Saskatchewan. In 1953 the Ursulines of Vibank amalgamated with the Ursulines of Chatham.
During her religious life she served as a teacher in Vibank, Regina, Bradford, Calgary and Edmonton. In 1968, after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, Sr. Loretta moved to The Pines, Chatham.
For over 30 years Sr. Loretta worked tirelessly as a member of the MS Chapter in Chatham. For quite a few years she was also treasurer of the Ursuline Motherhouse. Sister has received awards from the MS Society as well as a Volunteer Award from the Retired Teachers of Ontario.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, and siblings.
A private funeral service will be held.
