Obituary of Donald "Don" Sans

Peacefully and surrounded by his family on June 17 at the CKHA. Waiting on the other side for him were his parents Gerard And Helen Sans and in-laws Gerald and Loretta Maine. Also waiting to greet him were family Ray and Cheryle Norris, Jack and Donna McLeod and Louanne Maine.   

Survived by his wife and soulmate of 56 yrs Mickie (Maine) Sans. Loving father to Christopher (Heather) and Anjanette. Poppa/Grampa to Quinn, Abigail, Olivia and Madeline.  Dad to Max the cat. 

Don was born and raised in Chatham, working at his father’s gas station then employed at Rockwell/Meritor for over 30 yrs before retiring in 2005. Don was an animal lover and raised everything from pigeons to turtles. He loved watching sports-hockey, baseball, football and auto racing. Go Habs, Yankees and Green Bay. Snaz loved his cars especially his 1973 Gran Torino and his extensive die cast collection.  He was quiet but strong, loving but stern and stubborn till the very end. 

Thank you to our friends and family that have supported us through this time. Thank you Dr. Roszell, Dr. Bailey and all the doctors and nurses at CKHA that cared for Don. 

Friends and relatives may visit at Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Wednesday June 22, 2022 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday June 23, 2022 at 10 AM in St. Joseph's Church.  

Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery.

Donations to any local Animal Rescue or the St. Vincent de Paul Society would be appreciated by the family.
