John Joe “Bugsy” Bednarik, plowed his last furrow, caught his last fish and danced his last polka on Sunday December 11, 2022 at the age of 84. Beloved husband of 62 years of Lillian (Vitek) Bednarik. Born in Chatham in 1938, son of the late Mary (Kocis) and Thomas Bednarik.
Loving father of the late Peggy Pollock (2022)(companion Jerome), Mark (Donna) and Patrick (Janice) Bednarik and late Katherine Bednarik (1963). Dear grandfather of Rebecca (Matt) Sloan, Thomas (Lizzie) Bednarik, Alexandra (Zach) Livingston, Andrea Pollock (Stephanie), Anthony Pollock (Carly), Mitchell Bednarik (Cheyenne), Bradley (Kelly) Thompson, Emily Thompson (Shane) and Meagan Bednarik. Dearest great grandfather of River, Emery, Leighton and Lucy.
He will also be remembered by his sister-in-law Mary Kurecka and many special loving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister-in-law Georgina Ouellette and brothers-in-law Tony Kurecka, Joe Fojtik and Charles Ouellette.
Many special thanks to the many caring hands at Tilbury Manor Nursing Home and CKHA through the past challenging years.
Friends and relatives may visit at Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Tuesday December 13, 2022 from 4-8 PM.
Visitation will also take place in St. Joseph’s Church on Wednesday December 14, 2022 from 9 AM until time of funeral mass at 10 AM.
**THE FAMILY HAS ASKED THAT MASKS BE WORN DURING VISITATION AND THE FUNERAL**

Cremation will follow and burial of ashes will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Stem Cell Cancer Research-Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre (Hamilton) or the Heart and Stroke Society would be appreciated.
