Obituary of Wayne "Rocky" Jeffrey

Peacefully on Wednesday July 19, 2023, Wayne ‘Rocky’ Jeffrey, of Chatham-Kent, at age 91 went to meet his heavenly Father. Born in 1932, a loving husband to Florence (Strain) for 66 years. A role model for son Todd and his wife Lesli. A gold-star grandfather (Bump), storyteller and cheerleader to grandchildren Abigail (Sullivan) Robson, Maggie and Trent Jeffrey.

Predeceased by parents Harvey and Hazel (Franklin) Jeffrey, brother and best friend Sonny (Joanne) Jeffrey and beloved sister Lawanna (Eric) Huscroft.   

Brother-in law to Fred and Elsie Strain, Don and Joyce Strain, Audrey Shepley and Stuart and Marion Strain. Fondly remembered as Uncle Bud and Rocky by many nieces and nephews.  Brother-in law of the late Louise and Herbert Hind and Ron Shepley.

He was an accomplished auto body painter for close to fifty years. His many passions included hunting and fishing, archery and golf. Rocky was a lifetime parishioner of St. Agnes where he attended daily mass and Rosary when able.  Rocky was well loved and respected by all who knew him.  He was a caring, humble man modelled after St. Jospeh himself.  He is missed beyond measure. 

A special thanks to the staff on the second floor at River Gardens for their excellent care over the last five months and the staff of Maple City Residence for the prior five months.

Friends and relatives are invited to Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Monday July 24, 2023, with visiting from 10 AM until the time of funeral service at 11 AM in the funeral home. 

Interment to follow in Maple Leaf Cemetery.
