Obituary of Francis James "Jim" Jenkins

Peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Chatham Campus, Chatham, on Friday October 20, 2023, Francis James “Jim” Jenkins, age 78, of Chatham, beloved partner of Barb Mitchell and husband of the late Gwen (Walker) Jenkins (1993). 

Born in Chatham in 1945, son of the late Marie-Claire (Blais) and Fred Jenkins.  

Loving father of Kevin (Lisa) Jenkins, Crystal (Bryan) O’Hearn. Step father of Bruno (Jamie) Levesque and Rebecca (Daniel) Levesque. Cherished grandfather of Holley (Todd), Ryan (Hailey), Norian and Kailyn and great grandfather of Kaylee, Rylyn, Charlotte, Gracelynn, Ryley, Elise, Lawrence-James, and special grandfather to Quinn, Elliot and Charity.

Jim worked as a Diesel Truck Mechanic and as a custodian for the Board of Education. He loved to camp, spending most of his time around his campfire. Jim would also be found out at the Buxton race track almost every Saturday night waiting for the “next big crash”.

Friends and relatives may visit at Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Monday October 23, 2023.  

Cremation will follow.

Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
