Obituary of Jack Custance

Peacefully surrounded by family at Riverview Gardens Nursing Home, Chatham, on Friday December 8, 2023, Jack William Custance, age 99, of Chatham, beloved husband of the late Doris (L’Ecuyer) Custance (2010). 

Born in Detroit, Michigan in 1924, son of the late Lucy (Richter) and Ernest Custance.  Jack worked for Overland Express for over 25 years and was a member of St. Joseph’s Church.

Loving father of Sandra (Brian-passed) Chandler, Bonnie (Patty) Johns and Larry (Brenda) Custance. Sadly missed by 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Predeceased by an infant son Richard and by 2 brothers; George and Carl Custance and 1 sister Grace LaMarsh.

Friends and relatives may visit at Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Tuesday December 12, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday December 13, 2023 at 11 am in St. Michael’s Church, Dresden. 

Cremation will follow.
