Obituary of Audrey Eva Giroux

In Loving Memory of Audrey Eva Finlayson-Giroux 

Feb 22, 1946 - Jan 11, 2024 

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Audrey Eva Finlayson Giroux (Twinkie). Born in Cochrane Ontario, Audrey moved around the province before settling into Chatham, Ontario where she passed away peacefully at Chatham-Kent Hospice.

Audrey was known for her smile that lit up a room, her fun and adventurous spirit, her curiosity, her ability to whip up a knitted blanket, sweater or pair of socks, and her strength and independence. At the age of 73, after the loss of her husband of 53 years, Victor Giroux, she packed up her three cats and moved to Grenada for a year. Failing health forced her return. In June 2023 she was diagnosed with Cancer, if not for the cancer she would still be on a sandy beach somewhere. 

Audrey is survived by her children Carolyn Giroux, Christine O'Shields, Bryce Giroux and her Grandchildren Sam O'Shields, Parker and Patrick Giroux. Predeceased by a grand daughter Rachél. 

Special thank-you to the nurses and staff at the Chatham-Kent Hospice. 

As were Audrey’s wishes there will be no visitation or service.

Cremation has taken place.

The Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) is in charge of arrangements.
