Obituary of Mariantonia DeVito
With her family by her side at WRH- Ouellette Campus, Windsor, on Saturday January 13, 2024, Mariantonia DeVito, age 84, of Chatham, beloved wife of the late Mario DeVito (2021). Born in Castelvetere sul Calore in 1939, daughter of the late Federica (Marino) and Carmine DeFeo.
Loving mother of Tony (Anna), Frank (Heidi) and Enzo (Paola). Cherished nonna to Lisa (Anthony), Christina (Ljubomir), Sabrina, Mario (Stephanie), Franco (Jayne), Stephanie, Massimo (Monica), Gianluca and Alessandro and to her 7 great grandchildren; Hunter, Dominic, Alex, Leonardo, Ellie, Amaya and Mila. Dear sister of Assunta DeFeo.
Predeceased by her brothers Vittorio, Giocondo and sister Mariagrazia.
Mariantonia's life was dedicated to taking care of people. Her joy was in hosting and feeding groups of people and offering food and coffee to anyone who walked in her door, never taking no for an answer. Mariantonia was a strong and courageous woman with a heart of gold and a deep love for her family & friends.
Friends and relatives may visit at Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Wednesday January 17, 2024 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday January 18, 2024 at 11 AM in St. Joseph’s Church.
Entombment will be in Maple Leaf Mausoleum.
