So sorry to hear of Gary's passing.
Literally, I knew him from the time I was five years old, during my first year at Victoria Park School.
He was one of the "older guys" many of us looked up to.
Back in those days, the formative years, when it was good to have an older, bigger friend.
As I recall, he made friends easily and was always there to defend the little guy. Those were great days.
We both aged, matured and built our adult lives in Chatham.
I'd see Rollsie every now and again; share a memory, a laugh and maybe a pint.
I'll always think of him as one of the good guys!
One of those people I have known my whole
life. .
My condolences to his family.

Our condolences to Gary's family. Before I came to teach at JMSS in 1967 I had already heard of 'Rolls and Binga', 'you are going to like them'. I had both on my track team for two years. They were both likeable lads and easy to coach and both were superb high jumpers. We are sorry for your loss.

My heart felt condolences to the entire family. I smile when I picture in my mind, Dad and Gary riding their motorcycles together. Being the best of friends and cousins as they were to each other at one time. I picture them laughing uproariously at their private jokes. I will always remember with fondness of Gary's kind heart, of building a doll house for my sister and I when were children.
I will remember the joy and excitement as a child when Dad and Gary would take Preston and I for a ride on their Harley's on the hot summer days. Thank you Gary for the wonderful memories. I will remember you always Gary. Rest in peace now.

Gary was wise, kind and could always make you smile. For as long as I can remember he was a presence in my life. Gary was generous too – each time I helped with his paper route he treated me to a foot-long hotdog and a strawberry milkshake at Martin’s Restaurant downtown. In my teens, like he did with so many others, Gary opened a whole new world when he introduced me to the music of the great Leonard Cohen. Too often you don’t realize the influence people have had on your life until they leave. Gary was one of those special people and I’m grateful he was part of my life. My heartfelt condolences to Gary’s family and friends.
