Ron and Mark: We were deeply saddenend to learn of you Mom's passing. She was so very proud and supportive of both of you. We always admired her deep faith, strength, energy and tireless quest to make this world a better place in spite of losing the love of her life at such an early age. We are very thankful for having had Tilly and Fred as friends; may they now enjoy the everlasting love of Jesus together. May the Peace of Christ be with you and your families as you celebrate the life of one great lady!

Thilda was my neighbour; the anchor of our neighbourhood. When her garage door was open and she was sitting outside getting her daily dose of Vitamin D--anyone was welcome to have a sit with her. As soon as the outdoor light was on that meant Friday night Happy Hour was on. After my Mom passed away, Thilda became a "Mom" figure to me giving me life lessons in a stern but well intentioned way. She gave so much to me and my family in the way of companionship and laughter. I'll never forget the times spent in her summer house (outdoor gazebo), winter nights watching hockey in her cocoon (toasty warm family room), watching tennis matches in her bedroom when she wasn't well (even though I wasn't a tennis fan), and visits to local restaurants. We'll love and treasure our memories of Thilda forever. Ron, Mark, and families-- Try to take a small bit of comfort in all the time you shared with your Mom/Oma via face time, phone calls, and your presence. All of you meant the world to her.
Love Sue, Tom, Cassidy, and Taylor

Dear Ron, Mark and families, it is with a heart full of sadness that I send my deepest condolences on the passing of your dear mom, Tilly. She and your dad were close friends of ours for so long and part of my sadness is that we lost contact with each other over the years. I know that she loved you fiercely and always wanted the best for you.
I’m keeping you in my heart and prayers during these difficult days as you prepare to lay her to rest. I know your hearts are broken right now but hopefully the beautiful memories that you have of Fred and Tilly will ease your sorrow.
Sending much love and hugs

So far in distance but always close and in our hearts. It was a privilege that she was a part of our lives. What a great little woman she was. The photo’s from her last visit here and our visit in Canada speak for themselves. We will never forget her and hope she’s, as she told us herself, home now. Strength to all of you.

Tante Thilda was a spitfire. She was all get-up and go. I didn’t always agree with her, but I agreed with her about 95%! She had a passion for God and life. She always let people know where she stood and she didn’t take Bullshit from anyone and I think the word, Bullshit! Was one of her favourite words. In my adult years I learned a lot from her and about her and my own family. My parents loved her as she loved them and she was a welcome part of our family. She made me laugh and we shared many good laughs together. I’ll miss her and she will be missed. My condolences to Ron and Mark and their families.
