I remember when David used to say the Angelus before noon mass at St. Joseph. He always had a smile and a friendly disposition about him. May he rest in peace.

David had many sayings on things. When I commented that I had memory loss, he would say, "It gets worse!" When asked why he didn't go to confession at church, David would say, I did go to confession, with Father Capitano over coffee at Tim Horton's". David worked hard to keep the St. Joe's KofC in the spotlight and still running, which he did right to his last general meeting. I did not know much about David's work history or anything about his younger life, other than that he graduated from CKSS. Its time for David to rest now, he has done all that he can do. I extend my condolences to the extended family of David Bondy. C. Frank Doyle, Chatham, ON.

I am so sorry to hear of David’s passing. I would look forward to spying his vanity license plate and then a long arm out the window waving! He always called me “Sweetie” and asked me to pray for him. I’m definitely praying now! I’ll miss you Papa B!

My memories of Dave go back to 1964 at CKSS. He was older but we had a friendship that lasted into adulthood until we both moved away from Chatham and lost touch. It was great to see him again feeding the ducks in Tecumseh Park in the early 90's after many years and then for the last time a few years okay, when we could just pick up the conversation. The memories have been flooding back since I heard of his death, my condolences to his family. Dave danced to the beat of his own drum. Janet Fleming Forbes

Loved your sense of humour Dave. I will always remember you sitting on your porch in the summer and greeting those walking by. You didn't always have an easy life but you carried on with humour and your profound faith. May God watch over you as you pass unto your new life. Thank you for being in our neighbourhood and making us all laugh. My condolences to the family that remains behind to mourn your passing. We pray they will find comfort in their memories of your life here on earth. As for me, I will always look at the porch as I daily pass by and remember you. Keith Van Eyk
