Obituary of Rita Loretta King
On Sunday, July 14, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family, Rita King-Roy, née Robert, peacefully departed this world at the age of 99. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and unwavering devotion to her family. Born in Pain Court in 1924, daughter of the late Anna (Belanger) and Alphy Robert. Rita dedicated her life to nurturing and guiding her 11 children, whom she cherished beyond measure. Her life was a testament of resilience and compassion, traits she imparted to all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her generosity knew no bounds. Throughout her long and fruitful life, Rita embodied the values of hard work and selflessness. As a homemaker, she created a warm and welcoming environment where laughter and love filled every corner. Her culinary skills were legendary, with family gatherings always centered around her delicious meals and favorite recipes. Rita is predeceased by her loving husband Ernest (1993). She is survived by her son Norbert King (Yvonne), Jeannine Nunes (Artur), Vivienne Labadie (Tom), Vincent Roy (King), Jean-Guy (John) King (Aline), Phil King (Angelica), Anita Dietrich (Robert).
Rita is predeceased by her sons Jacques (Jake) (2017), David (1993), Marc (2014) and Luc (2017), sisters Mary Jane Doyle and Rosalie Lancaster, brother Gerald Robert, as well as daughter-in-law, Mary-Ellen (2017) and her grandson Raymond (2022). In addition to her children, Rita leaves behind her 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren who will forever cherish her memory. She will also be remembered by her sisters-in-law Jessie Robert, Marcelle Roy, Helen Roy and many nieces and nephews.
Her wisdom, gentle spirit, and enduring love will live on in their hearts forever. May her soul find eternal peace and may her memory be a blessing to us all.

Friends and relatives may visit at Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Friday July 19, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday July 20, 2024 at 11am in Immaculée Conception Church.
Burial will follow in Immaculée Conception Cemetery, Pain Court.
