She was a dark haired beauty with large hazel colored eyes. Her smile was 100 watts, and her heart was full of love and compassion. Her name was Debbie Anne, my sister.
Debbie loved her family especially her grandkids Maddy and Kaiden, as well as her immediate relatives and anyone else that she would meet along the way, all were treated with genuine kindness and a readiness to "get to know you better."
She had an eagerness to try new things, especially with new recipes.
It was fun cooking with her, talking with her, and when we watched movies we had the biggest laughs of all.
When my roses open up their buds to bring forth their beauty, I will think upon her beauty.
Love you
Cathy xo

George & Family,
You know how we felt about Deb..simply one of the best and one of our favourite people.
Of course, I have known that for sometime..sometime being over 50 years ago when you two first met in Huntsville when we were just beginning our broadcast careers.
We had heard that our colleague, George was dating this beautiful girl from nearby Scotia. We were suitably impressed and I am sure we let George know about it ( what is SHE doing with you?)
Who knew this was a match for the ages? Over 50 years together.. and we have remained good friends for that half century.
Didn't get together as often as we wanted but when we did we just picked up where we left off whether it was lunch or just a quick visit. Always enjoyed our time together.
Deb..still the same lovely girl I met all those years ago. So stoic and positive despite her ongoing health issues ...never complaining, in fact always asking how WE are doing.
Rest in Peace , Deb. You deserve it.

Dear George, Kevin and Steven and families...we had so much fun growing up together, Deb and I were best buds. We couldn't wait for Sundays to come cause we were always at each other houses, we played, sang songs while Uncle George played the guitar. We'd all get in a car and go to the market on Saturday mornings, had birthdays together. So fun. I always thought of Deb as a sister, along with her other sisters. When we grew up and she moved away, we wrote letters to each other all the time. I was so happy when she moved to Chatham. We didn't see each other lots, but always talked and I would tell anybody i could that my cousin Deb made that flower arrangement. We loved it when Deb and George came to all the Dunbar parties. So very very sorry for your loss. Deb was a beautiful person, always with a smile and she meant the world to me. All our love. Linda and Michael xxoo

My sincere condolences to you George and family. I worked with Deb at Birdie’s Nest for many years. Some of my favourite days at work included the beautiful smile she always had and the care that she had towards her coworkers. Every morning that Deb came in I always gave her a hug (she said I gave the best hugs). My dear friend I am sending you my biggest hug of all. Deb had such passion in creating the most beautiful floral arrangements. She personally created one for me that I will cherish forever. She spoke so often about her family and how much she loved them. She had this sparkle in her eyes whenever we had our granddaughter showtime. Every Tuesday morning we shared stories about Madi and my granddaughter. We sure had many laughs. Deb you will be missed by so many and your love for all of us will get us through this. Sleep with the angels my dear friend. I will forever miss you!

I read once that " Grief is the price of loving someone"
I definitely feel this.
Debbie was a very special sister to all of us. Growing up she was my best friend and as adult women a close confidant. We shared 69 years together, so many special occasions, visits to each other's homes, vacations and much more.
It was very difficult watching the last 5 years of her illness, but Debbie would not reveal the struggle and pain side of it, she put her best foot forward and handled it with so much grace and positivity. George her loving husband was the best caregiver that I might ever witness. He was by her side through it all and she always told me that without him, she would be lost.
Now I will be a bit lost without her in my everyday life, but Debbie would want me to live my best life for her. She will be on my shoulder reminding me.
I love and cherish your beautiful life and memory.

My dear George and family. My heart goes out to you for your loss of this incredible woman. May your happy memories help you through this very difficult time. All of us at Birdie’s Nest send our condolences. We will miss Debbie’s beautiful smile and the sunshine that always seemed to follow her. We were so fortunate to have this extremely talented florist a part of our family for many years. Debbie could design outstanding floral creations with such ease and customers were always delighted. Such a beautiful, kind, and loving human inside and out, a one in a million. Let’s not forget her sense of humour that kept the laughter going all day! You will be sadly missed but will remain in our hearts forever. Big hugs from all of us❤️

Awww...what a sweet, sweet person! I got to know Debbie well during my years at the Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home. She was the person I would seek out if I was to ever order flowers personally because she set the bar so high and did things differently than anyone else. She spoke so highly of you George and the boys as well.

My deepest condolences to George and family:
I had the pleasure of working with Deb at Birdies Nest what a joy Tuesday's were, when she would come in to work on floral arrangements at the store. She was so very talented! She was rarely without a smile and just the sweetest! A beautiful lady from the inside out. So naturally when my husband Matt and I got married in 2019 we had Deb create our wedding flowers through Syd Kemsley!
Courageous and brave with her cancer battle and always a positive light. I am glad to have ran in to Deb and George recently at my current work place.
I will forever remember her smile and positive energy!
Forever missed.
Rest in Peace beautiful angel!

Many years ago there was a select group of individuals who volunteered to organize a fundraiser for The Festival of Trees, Lung Association. This is where I met Deb. I don't think we all realized what we were in for. She was so much fun to get to know, with her soft spoken voice, but yet funny side, we soon became friends, spending many meetings over a few months it was always a pleasure to have a chat. Over the years we would bump into each other and the conversation was always fun and easy. She will continue to be a bright light, now in memory. Sending my heartfelt sympathy as you miss a beautiful wife/mom and grandmother. Thinking of you and sending prayers. Sincerely, Tricia Xavier

Dear Debbie,
It is sad to write these words because I do not want to believe that you are really gone.
I was happy to hear that you left quietly in your sleep, that is what I was praying for.
Debbie, you will always be beautiful, full of grace and a very brave person, your illness did not change your lovely personality.
So, sweetheart until we meet again in heaven, have a good rest!
