Obituary of Genesio Matteis

It is with deep sorrow and much love we announce the passing of Genesio (Gino) Matteo Matteis on October 20, 2024 at the age of 90.  Predeceased by his wife Emma Matteis in 2021.

Loving father of Maria Mariconda and partner Darren Lopes.  Sadly missed by grandchildren Kristina and Zachary Mariconda, "adopted son" and best friend Paul Mollica. Dear sister Domenica DeMattia, sister in-law Concetta Prizio and numerous family members.

Gino (Super G) will be remembered for his kind, loving, courteous and nurturing ways, always giving without return to others.  The family would like to thank Riverview Gardens (2 West) for their care and support for the last 6+ years.

Friends and relatives may visit at Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Wednesday October 23, 2024 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday October 24, 2024 at 11 AM in St. Ursula's Church.

Entombment will follow in Maple Leaf Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Foundation of Chatham Kent Health Alliance or Chatham Kent Hospice.
