Obituary of Rogier Blondeel

Passed away peacefully, at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, on Sunday, July 26, 2015, Rogier Achiel Blondeel, in his 89th year, formerly of Grande Pointe, beloved husband of Ghislaine Blondeel (nee Caryn). Born in Belgium, son of the late Gustaaf and Eliza Blondeel.
He is survived by his children, Jean Blondeel, Linda (Dan) Raes, Debra Blondeel, Michael Blondeel, Susan Blondeel, Brenda (Trevor) Charles, and Jacqueline (Bill) Campbell, 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and a great great grandchild. Also survived by 4 brothers, 2 sisters, 3 step brothers, 2 step sisters and many nieces and nephews. He was loved by all his family and will be sadly missed.
Predeceased by his son, David Blondeel, 1 grandchild, 3 great grandchildren, sister Leona Tetrault, brothers Charlie, George, step sisters Astrid and Edith and a stepbrother Adelson Gobert.
Rogier was past president of the KBD Club. The family wishes to thank Dr. Huffman and the staff of Medicine Unit A 4th floor of CKHA for their care and compassion.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 11 am in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Susan Jolley officiating. Burial of cremated remains to follow in St. Philippe Cemetery, Grande Pointe.
