Obituary of Robert Serruys

Suddenly at his residence, on Friday May 15, 2015, Robert “Bob” Gustaf Serruys, age 65, of Chatham-Kent, beloved husband of Renée Serruys. Born in Chatham in 1950, son of the late Elizabeth Salenbien and George Serruys. Bob worked at Navistar until its closing and also was a proud farmer.
Loving father of Desirée vanHoeckel and her husband Marty. Sadly missed by a sister-in-law Linda Caron, 2 nieces; Shelly (Shawn) Bechard, Colleen (Aaron) Moison, a nephew Bob (Jolene) Serruys and a step niece Renée Caron. Predeceased by his brother Allen (2012). Also sadly missed by brothers-in-law Keith Blair, Kevin (Sylvie) Blair, sister-in-law Melanie (Marcel) Rivest and mother-in-law Shirley Blair (late Rene). Dear godfather to Justin Rivest (Kathryn) and dear uncle to Lynette Rivest (Sean), Steve (Tara) Blair and Bryant (Megan) Blair. Cherished great-uncle to many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends and relatives may visit at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Tuesday May 19, 2015 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm, where Vigil Prayers will be offered at 3 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday May 20, 2015 at 10:00 AM in Immaculée Conception Church, Pain Court.
Burial will be in Immaculée Conception Cemetery.
Donations to the Charity of One’s Choice would be appreciated by the family.
