Obituary of Leo George Soudant

Passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Chatham Campus, on Wednesday May 13, 2015, with his loving family by his side at the age of 61. Leo George Soudant was the loving husband of Anna Soudant (Xuereb) for 41 years. Loving father to Tanya Soudant. Leo was the son of the late Rose and Harry Soudant. Predeceased by his sister Henny Franssen and Mary Burm. Brother of Nellie Janosek, Nettie Demaat, Mary Lou DePelsmaker and Paul Soudant. Son-in-law of Saverio and Mary Xuereb, brother-in-law of Marcella and George Shapardanis. He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Leo belonged to the Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph’s Parish Council. He had been a Knight for over 25 years and was a Grand Knight from 1993 to 1995. Leo served on the Board of Directors for low profit family housing of Columbus Estates for 15 years. Leo’s passion was to help others. The family would like to thank Dr. Parry and his staff and the C. K.H.A. for their care and compassion. Friends and relatives may visit at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Friday, May 15, 2015 from 4 -9 pm. Vigil prayers will be held at 4 pm. Knights of Columbus prayers will follow. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 10 am in St. Joseph’s Church. Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Donations to the C.K. Hospice would be appreciated.
